Delilah

Delilah

Delilah is thirteen years young, and she has figured out the most important thing in life: people are wonderful, especially when they stick around.

Give her a minute to say hello properly and she will melt right into you — leaning in for pets, trotting outside to explore with you, then curling up for a long, happy nap where she can keep one eye on her favorite person. She knows her commands, she has not missed once on house training in foster care, and she will do just about anything for a treat. She is calm, she is loving, and she is so, so ready for a home that is hers for good.

Delilah has arthritis and some big, soft lipomas her vet said are no problem, and she just started medication to keep her comfortable. That is the whole medical story — the rest of the story is a golden girl who still has so much love to give, and who will greet every morning like it is a gift.

Picture her on a blanket in the yard, sunshine on her face, looking up at you just to check you are still there. You are. And so is she — all yours.
